THE POSITION
The Department of Transportation Clinton County Maintenance Office is looking for a motivated individual to fill a permanent full-time position of Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager. Apply today for this exciting career opportunity!
This position serves as an assistant to the County Maintenance Manager and is responsible for all maintenance activities occurring in an assigned area of the Clinton County Maintenance Organization.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Directs all phases of seasonal highway maintenance work for an assigned region of a County Maintenance organization to include minor construction programs on state highways. This work involves planning, scheduling, and controlling all work including winter snow removal operations.
Actively markets the Agility program within an assigned region of the County by forging partnerships and negotiating work plans for appropriate work agreements. Ensures subordinate foremen are sufficiently trained in all aspects of normal highway maintenance work and crew supervision to foster independent operation in all routine maintenance activities.
Reviews subordinate reports and approves payrolls related to work performed in the assigned region. Inspects work in progress and upon completion for adherence to Department standards, regional practices, and the original intention and assignment of work to be performed. Reviews and alters scheduled work through review reports, original planning session notes, weather conditions, inventory analysis, equipment availability reports, period plans, weekly plans, and related highway materials
information.
Provides continual monitoring and evaluation of the condition of all highways in the assigned region through periodic road condition inspections, complaint responses, and general discussions with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
Investigates highway-related complaints, ensures prompt and appropriate response is provided, and reviews and keeps road logs/records of conditions within assigned area to develop effective priority planning of work operations and estimates.
Reviews the use of proper and appropriate work zone traffic control setups and takes the lead in maintaining a safe work environment for crews and the motoring public by ensuring subordinate foreman are following proper safety procedures and utilization of equipment. The incumbent creates and encourages awareness of work area conditions and initiates proactive accident and injury avoidance measures. The incumbent manages overall activities associated with personal injuries/accidents.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

+ Minimum Experience and Training Requirements and Special Requirements - One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1; OR six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training
+ SPECIAL REQUIREMENT- All positions require possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
